LUBRICATION
Gearboxes
1. IMPORTANT: Remember to check oil level in all gearboxes.
2. Replace gear oil in all gearboxes after the first 50 hours of operation then yearly.
3. Check gearbox oil levels frequently.
4. Procedure for refilling a gearbox:
•
Park unit on level surface.
•
Remove the drain plug from underside of gearbox and drain oil.
•
Reinstall drain plug
•
Remove vent plug / dipstick from top of gearbox
•
Fill gearbox until oil reaches the fill line of dipstick. Do not screw in dipstick when checking oil level.
Capacity is approximately 0.9 liters (.09 qt) for Gearbox #330-675
Capacity is approximately 1.2 liters (1.27 qt) for Gearbox #330-680
•
Reinstall vent plug / dipstick. Dispose of old oil in accordance with the local regulations.
5. If the fan must be removed from the gearbox, antiseize must be added to the shaft prior to installation.
6. Gear case oil should meet the following specifications:
API Service Classifications GL 5
