  • Page 34 INTRODUCTION The RDX-117 Snow Blowers are designed for removing accumulations of snow from driveways, barnyards, roadways and parking lots. Check local regulations before operating on roadways. With proper maintenance as described in this manual, your Snow Blower will provide you with years of dependable service with a minimum of repairs.

    PARALLEL GEARBOX MOUNTING The standard position for the parallel shaft gearbox on Schulte RDX-117 snow blowers is with the gearbox upright, the input shaft is in the high position. Gearbox must be rotated down so that the input shaft is in the low position.

    The horsepower required to operate the implement depends on several operating factors including terrain condition, operator experience, condition of the implement and tractor, and other factors. The recommended tractor HP for the RDX-117 is 140-200hp. Operating the implement with a larger tractor will greatly increase the risk of damaging the implement.

    The tractor should never be operated at speeds that cannot be safely handled or which will prevent the operator from stopping quickly during an emergency.     PTO is operating at the rated speed. If you here unusual noises or feel abnormal vibrations, disengage the PTO immediately.     The distance between the chute and the base should always be about 1/ 2”. If wear is found, a shim kit can be purchased from your local Schulte dealer. To install the shim kit: 1. Remove the 5/8” bolts holding the guide sleeves to the chute base.

    1. IMPORTANT: If the PTO shear bolt breaks immediately shut down the tractor and replace the shear bolt. 2. The shear bolts used on this Schulte snow blower and mounting kits are either Grade 2 or Metric Grade 8.8. Refer to the illustrations for help in identification of these grades of bolts.
