2. Auger Drive Chain

1.
Re-tighten the auger drive chain when slack exceeds 3/4 inch at the centre of the bottom chain
section.
2.
The drive chain is tightened by loosening the bolts on the idler roller plate and forcing the idler against
the chain, then re-tightening the bolts.
3.
DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN as this will increase wear of the idler roller. Allow approximately 3/8 inch of
slack up or down at the centre of the bottom chain section.

3. Reversing or Replacing Blade

1.
Occasionally check the blade for wear. If the blade has worn to the point where the mouldboard is
starting to wear then reverse it or replace it. If the lock nuts are damaged or worn replace them also.
2.
Remove the carriage bolts which attach the blade. Reverse or replace the blade.

4. Shear Bolt

1.
IMPORTANT: If a shear bolt breaks during operation immediately shut down the tractor and replace
the shear bolt.
Shear bolts should not be over tightened, as this may cause unpredictable shearing
action.
2.The shear bolts used on this snow blower and mounting kits are either Grade 2 or Metric
Grade 8.8. Refer to the illustrations for help in identification of these grades of bolts.
