MAINTENANCE
• Put the material in a metal drum, cover the surface with plenty of extingui‐
shing material. The residual material may contain unreacted lithium, therefore li‐
mit exposure to rain by covering, for example, with mineral oil.
• Wear safety equipment: coat, gloves, mask and filters.
• The area around the cell will be covered by a black carbonaceous deposit whi‐
ch contains metallic parts of the cell. Cover the carbonaceous residue with a 50/
50 mixture of soda and vermiculite or other absorbent material. Avoid contact
between the metallic residue and charged cells as this condition may cause a
short‐circuit.
• Place the contaminated material in a sealable plastic bag and remove the
excess air. Seal the bag.
• Place a cup of vermiculite in a second bag, place the first bag in the second and
seal it.
• Clean the area with plenty of water and keep cleaning with water and soap.
• Dispose of hazardous material in accordance with the local legislation in force.

12.20.START‐UP OF THE MACHINE AFTER MAINTENANCE
After any maintenance operation, before using the machine to work
at a height it is compulsory to perform all the movements controlling
them from the ground, in order to make sure that the hydraulic and
electrical system are in good working order. Make sure that all the
safety devices are functioning and are correctly shown on the remote
control. Furthermore, after performing a series of movements, check
again the balance and the degree of tension of the ropes, as well as the
centring of the extension arms.
Only then will the machine be ready for use.
