programmers. However, it does not allow the degree of control and flexibility that
SIMPL Windows does. Of course, one can initiate programming using the easiest
method (Crestron AppBuilder) and use advanced techniques that are available from
SIMPL Windows to customize the job.
Crestron AppBuilder comes with templates for all supported interfaces. If a user
wishes to create a touchpanel project using templates with a different look-and-feel
this can be accomplished by making a custom template. This custom template can
then be used by Crestron AppBuilder to create the final project files to be loaded into
the panels. Alternatively, VT Pro-e can be used to tweak projects created with
Crestron AppBuilder or develop original touchpanel screen designs.
NOTE: AppBuilder does not have direct support for the TPS-3100L. However, the
template for the TPS-3000L can be used for installations requiring a TPS-3100L.
For QuickMedia™ applications using the TPS-3100L, Crestron recommends using
System Builder™ (SystemBuilder) software. SystemBuilder has similar functionality
to AppBuilder, but is optimized for programming QuickMedia systems. A future
release of SystemBuilder (due in fourth quarter of 2004) will also be able to
configure and program distributed audio systems.
For lighting and home automation applications using the TPS-3100L, Crestron
recommends using D3 Pro™ Lighting and Automation System software. D3 Pro has
similar functionality to AppBuilder and SystemBuilder, but is optimized for
programming lighting and home automation systems.
The following are the minimum required software versions for the PC:

(Optional) System Builder version 2.0 (due in fourth quarter of 2004) or
later with System Builder Templates version 1.01or later. Requires SIMPL
Windows.

(Optional) D3 Pro version 1.2.7 or later. Requires SIMPL Windows.
•
SIMPL Windows version 2.05.22 or later with Library Update 302 or later.
Requires SIMPL+ Cross Compiler version 1.1.
•
Crestron Database version 16.3.4 or later. Required by SIMPL Windows,
VT Pro-e, and Crestron Engraver.
•
Crestron VisionTools Pro-e version 3.2.18 or later. Used for graphical
touchscreen design.
•
Crestron Engraver 2.2.1.2 or later.
The latest versions can be obtained from the Downloads | Software Updates section
of the Crestron website (www.crestron.com). Crestron software and any files on the
website are for Authorized Crestron dealers and Crestron Authorized Independent
Programmers (CAIP) only. New users may be required to register to obtain access to
certain areas of the site (including the FTP site).
NOTE: The TPS-3100L touchpanel is supplied with five blank pushbuttons.
Optional custom engraved keys can be ordered separately by using the Crestron
Engraver Software. Version 2.2.1.2 or later is available from the Downloads |
Software Updates section of the Crestron website (www.crestron.com).
Digital, analog and serial join numbers are a common thread between VT Pro-e and
SIMPL Windows. These numbers define how the objects on a touchpanel page of a
VT Pro-e project interface to the outside world, specifically the Cresnet system as
defined in the SIMPL Windows program. There are digital join numbers that carry
