Problem

The red SRS warning lamp
lights up while the engine is
running.

The yellow tyre pressure
warning lamp lights up.

Risk of injury
The restraint systems have malfunc-
tioned. The airbags or belt tensioners may
either be triggered unintentionally or not
at all in the event of an accident.

Risk of accident
The tyre pressure monitoring system indi-
cates a rapid or severe pressure loss in at
least one tyre.
Suggested solutions
Consult your PLM or drive carefully to a qual-
ified specialist workshop which has the nec-
essary specialist knowledge and tools for
the work to be done. Mercedes-Benz recom-
mends that you have such work carried out
at an SLR Service Centre. In particular, work
relevant to safety or on safety-related sys-
tems must be carried out at a qualified spe-
cialist workshop.
Stop the vehicle without making any sudden
steering or braking manoeuvres. Pay atten-
tion to the traffic conditions.
Observe the additional messages in the mul-
ti-function display ( page 237).
When the defect has been rectified the
warning lamp goes out after driving for a few
minutes.
