Possible cause/conse-

The starter battery has been
charged with a battery charger
or the engine was jump-start-
ed.
The battery is not being
charged. Possible cause/con-
sequences:
faulty alternator
torn poly-V-belt
Note that the SBC
TM
brake sys-
tem requires electrical power.
Greater braking force will then
be required and the pedal travel
is longer. The stopping distance
will be increased. If necessary,
depress the brake pedal with
maximum force.
Practical advice
Display messages
Consult your PLM or a qualified specialist workshop,
e.g. an SLR Service Centre.
Stop immediately and safely when traffic conditions al-
low and check the poly-V-belt.
If it is torn,
Do not drive any further. Consult your PLM or a
qualified specialist workshop, e.g. an SLR Service
Centre immediately.
If it appears to be undamaged,
Consult your PLM or drive immediately to the nearest
qualified specialist workshop, e.g. an SLR Service
Centre.
Observe the additional messages in the multi-function
display.
