Lighting

You will find information about switching
on the lights and indicating a turn in the
"Getting started" section ( page 61).
For reasons of safety, Mercedes-Benz rec-
ommends that you drive with the lights
switched on even during the daytime. Dif-
ferences in operation are possible in indi-
vidual countries due to legal requirements
and self-imposed obligations. In these
countries the dipped-beam headlamps are
switched on when the ignition is switched
on. You will find information on changing
your vehicle's lighting setting in the
"On-board computer" section
( page 135).

i
If you are travelling in countries where vehi-
cles are driven on the opposite side of the road
to that of the country in which the vehicle is reg-
istered, there is a danger of dazzling oncoming
traffic. To avoid this you must change the head-
lamps to symmetrical dipped-beam. You can ob-
tain information about this from your PLM or any
SLR Service Centre.
