Automatic transmission
Kickdown

Kickdown in manual gearshift program M is
not possible.
In kickdown operation, it is not possible to
change gear with the steering wheel gearshift
paddles.
Use kickdown for maximum acceleration.
Depress the accelerator pedal beyond
the pressure point.
The transmission shifts to the next gear
down, depending on the engine speed.

You can change gear using the steering
wheel gearshift paddles.

1 Left paddle: to downshift
2 Right paddle: to upshift

You can change gears using the steering
wheel gearshift paddles independent of the cur-
rently selected gearshift program (M/S).
If the selector lever is in position P, N or R, you
cannot perform gearshifts using the steering
wheel gearshift paddles.
Upshifting
Pull paddle 2 on the right of the steer-
ing wheel.
The transmission shifts to the next gear
up. If you are not driving in the manual
gearshift program M the shift range is
extended ( page 146). The current
gear position appears in the right-hand
multi-function display ( page 117).
