Prerequisites for Configuration
The PBXgateway II (at the corporate site) and the EXTender 6000 (at the branch office) must be installed
properly and the network link between both devices must be operational.
Configuration Items
The following parameters need to be configured on the PBXgateway II. Refer to the PBXgateway II
System Administrator's Guide for complete set up information.
You must...
Set the WAN port mode
(interface type)
Enable/Disable WAN port
Set Async parameters for
the selected WAN port.
Set Jitter Delay and
Compression.
Set-up Call Suspend.
Set the Phone Port
compression algorithm for all
active phone ports.
PBXgateway II Quick Installation Guide
To.....
Async RS-232
Enable WAN ports to connect to network
device.
Disable WAN ports not being used.
Match the settings of the network device
including:
DCE Type
Async Rate
ISDN Switch Type
Phone Numbers
Match the settings for the device being used.
Note: Not required for ISDN.
Reduce dialup ISDN costs.
Provide adequate bandwidth for all users.
