Connection for the Management Interface (MI)

Direct Serial Connection

The console port provides a direct serial connection to a PC allowing access to all features and functions
of the PBXgateway II Management Interface and the ability to configure, monitor and troubleshoot the
unit.
Required Cable
A standard RS-232 serial straight-through (DB-9, Male) cable is required. Use this cable to connect the
PC's COM Port to the console port on the front of the unit. (see the figure below)
Note: Cable length should not exceed 50 ft.
Before you connect:
Before connecting to the PBXgateway II you must confirm that the PC's COM port settings match the
console port settings as follows:
Baud rate: 9600
Databits: 8
Parity: none
Stopbits: 1
Flow Control: XON/XOFF

Procedure
Connect the DB-9 cable to the port labeled "Console" on the front of the PBXgateway II.
