Optical modules

This chapter describes pluggable optical modules, including the following sections:



We recommend using Raisecom optical modules. Raisecom optical modules have
been tested during R&D period very suitable for the ISCOM6860. Therefore, using
Raisecom optical modules are the best choice for better performance index and
lower fault occurrence rate.

5.1 GE SFP module

5.1.1 Functions and appearance

The GE Small Form-factor Pluggables (SFP) module, which integrates Rx and Tx feature into
one, is used for the 1000 Mbit/s telecommunication network or the data communication
system.
Figure 5-1 shows the appearance of the GE SFP module.

5.1.2 Label

A label is pasted on the bottom of the GE SFP module, where you can view its model, as
shown in Figure 5-2.
