1. Purchase
STEP 1
Enter the amount to initiate the purchase transaction and then proceed to step 3
OR
STEP 1
Press # for transaction list and select 'purchase'
STEP 2
Enter the purchase amount and press enter
STEP 3
Enter the tip amount and press enter
STEP 4
Enter a valid waiter ID and press enter
STEP 5
Enter the table number and press enter
Pass the POS device to the customer who can either Tap to Pay™,
STEP 6
insert or swipe his or her card
STEP 7
If prompted, the customer must enter his or her PIN followed by enter
Once the transaction is approved, the POS device will
STEP 8
print a customer and merchant copy of the receipt
STEP 9 The POS device will return to the idle screen
Note: if the transaction is declined, one receipt will print showing the decline message
If the customer selects to Tap to Pay™ his or her card and the transaction is below R500, the
customer will not need to enter his or her PIN. For Tap to Pay™ transactions, whether over or
under R500, the customer can choose to print a receipt.
If no tip was given, press enter after inputting the purchase amount. If the tip amount is greater
than the meal amount, the waiter must obtain supervisor authorisation. Once the transaction
is completed, the terminal will print a receipt confirming whether the transaction is approved or
declined. The customer must sign the receipt.
