Drag and drop the .bix file into the "Select reader firmware" box or click in the box and then navigate to
the location where the .bix file is stored then select the file. The act of dragging and dropping the file or
selecting "Open" from the Windows file selection window will initiate the programming activity.
The upgrade process usually takes about 15 seconds depending on network overhead. Navigate back
to the Status page to see the updated Product designation which will show the new TWN4 firmware and
application.
6.7. Status
Administrators can check the running status of TCP3 by clicking "Status". The status includes version,
printer and USB reader.
Version This field will display information about the TCP3 Kernel and the current software version. It will
also display the current hardware revision as well as the MAC address of the host Ethernet port.
Printer This field will display the IP address currently assigned to the connected printer. It will also
display the status of the printer, whether it is connected and whether it was able to successfully receive an
IP address. If a printer is successfully connected it will display its MAC address and serial number. If no
printer is connected it will display a MAC with all FFs an the serial number will be unknown.
System Status This field will display some performance information about the converter. It will display a
snapshot at the time this window was opened. It will display CPU usage as well as RAM and Disk usage
and CPU core temperature. It will also display uptime from last power or or reboot as well as the total
number of hours of operation since the TCP3 was installed.
USB Reader This field will display a status of the peripheral(s) which are connected to the USB port(s).
It will show whether device is logically connected and whether it uses HID Keyboard or another commu-
nication protocol such as CDC. It will also display the USB Vendor ID (VID) and Product ID (PID) which
