5. Configuration via TCP3 Config
5.10.1. Reset to Factory Default
In the event that a configuration doesn't quite meet expectations, the converter can be returned to the
factory default configuration by sending a "Factory Default" JSON file to the converter. A "Default.json" file
is supplied with TCP3 Config in the same directory as the TCP3 Config.msi file. Once the file has been
selected, simply touch the "Push Configuration to Selected Devices" button. The new configuration will be
sent to each of the selected converters which will reboot after installing the configuration.
5.11. Remote Firmware Upgrade
TCP3 is equipped with the ability to upgrade its firmware using 2 different methods:
1. Remotely using the TCP3 Config tool as will be covered in this section
2. Remotely from the TCP3 System web page as will be covered in section. 6.6.3
3. Locally via a USB flash drive as will be covered in section 7.1
The TC3 upgrade file is supplied in a zipped format which can be extracted from the TCP3 AdminPack
available on Elatec.com. From the TCP3 Config main window, select all of the converters to have their
firmware upgraded. Next select the "Firmware Upgrade" Button from the TCP3 Config tool bar then navi-
gate to the zipped TCP3 firmware file. Select "Open" and the file will be sent to the selected converter(s).
The file will be sent to two devices at a time and once the file has been received by the converter TCP3
Config will move onto the next converter. Progress will be reported in the status window. Status is also
captured in a TC3Config log file located in the Documents/TCP3Config directory. This feature enables
users to update a fleet of devices in a matter of minutes
5.12. Remote TWN4 Firmware or Configuration Update
TCP3 is equipped with the ability to update the firmware or configuration of a single attached TWN4 card
reader. Following a similar process to the firmware upgrade just described, a TWN4 .bix file can be sent
using the TCP3 Config tool.
