8-2. Steps to take in an emergency
Taking out the spare tire
1 Take out the jack holder.
2 Loosen the center fastener that
secures the spare tire.
WARNING
■ When storing the spare tire
Be careful not to catch fingers or
other body parts between the spare
tire and the body of the vehicle.
Replacing a flat tire (vehicles
with jack and tools)
1 Chock the tires.
Flat tire Wheel chock positions
Front left- Behind the rear right-
hand side hand side tire
Front right- Behind the rear left-hand
hand side side tire
Rear left- In front of the front right-
hand side hand side tire
Rear right- In front of the front left-
hand side hand side tire
2 For vehicles with full wheel
ornament: Remove the wheel
ornament using the wrench.
To protect the wheel ornament, place a
rag between the wrench and the wheel
ornament.
