2-8. Replacing the Desiccant

Desiccant is used to maintain low himidity inside
the unit. Therefore, make sure to replace it with a
new one when removing the outer parts of the
unit.
Removal
1. Remove the lower cover.
(Refer to Section 1-2-2.)
2. Remove the clear dome assembly.
(Refer to Section 1-2-3.)
3. Remove the screw, and remove the desiccant
plate in the direction of the arrow.
4. Loosen the screw, and slide the desiccant
cover in the direction of the arrow, and
remove the desiccant.
Installation

The desiccant absorbs moisture inside the unit in
about 2 hours.
To have moisture absorbed effectively, work
quickly after the dessicant is taken out of the
package or it will be misted up with outside
moisture.
5. Take the new desiccant out of the sealed
package, and set it inside the desiccant plate.
6. Reattach the desiccant plate in the reverse
order of steps 3 and 4.
7. Reassemble the unit in the reverse order of
steps 1 and 2.
