Chapter 8: Creating and Editing Sounds

Editing a sound

This function is used to edit a sound in your MPC3000. The avail-
able editing features are:
• Edit the sound's parameter data, including:
• Initial volume
• Initial tuning
• Soft start address
• Soft end address
• Automatically find the best soft start address
• Edit the sound's sample data, including:
• Copy a portion of the sound and insert the copy at any
other point within the same sound or a different sound.
• Delete, reverse, or silence any portion of the sound.
To edit a sound, press the PROGRAM/SOUNDS key, then type 6.

There are two parts to this screen—Sound Params and Edit
Samples. Sound Params permits the editing of certain parameters
stored with the sound file that affect its playback. Edit Samples
permits actual editing of the sound's sample data.

Edit Sound
field (title line of screen):
This field is used to select the sound to be edited. It can be selected
in one of two ways:
1. Press one of the front panel pads. The sound currently
assigned to that pad will be selected.
2. Use the data entry control. Each click of the control will
select the next sound in an alphabetized list of all avail-
able sounds in memory.
