Loading, Erasing, or Renaming Files

This function is used to either load, erase, or rename files on the
current disk. In the case of a load, the screens will guide you to load
the file into the proper place, according to the file extension (the
three letters after the period in a file name, e.g.,
To load, erase, or rename a file on disk, select 7 (
rename
) from the DISK key menu. The following screen will
appear:

The fields and soft keys are:
File
• The
field:
This field is used to select the disk file to be loaded, erased, or
renamed. Use the data entry control to select from an alphabetical
list of the files on the current disk. File names can be up to 16
characters, and are followed by a period and a three-character
extension, which identifies the type of file:
SEQ: a single sequence
ALL: all sequences and songs
SND: a single sound
PGM: a single program
APS: all programs and sounds
PAR: system parameters
Size
• The
field:
This field shows the size (in kilobytes) of the selected file. It is for
display only and cannot be edited.
Free(seq)
• The
field:
If a SEQ, ALL, or PAR file is selected in the
shows the amount of available sequence memory. If a SND, PGM, or
APS file is selected, this field appears as
the amount of available sound memory. By comparing the file size to
the available memory, you will be able to see if there is enough space
available to load the selected file. This field is for display only and
cannot be edited.
