Replacing a Disk Drive

When a disk drive fails
Its Drive Status LED flashes (amber if the disk drive is assigned

to an array, green if the disk drive is unassigned).
Its Drive Activity LED lights up solid amber.

The alarm sounds.
I
The system monitor displays an error event.
I
A failed disk drive should be replaced immediately.
Warning: Drives and printed circuit board components are
sensitive to electrostatic discharge. To prevent damage,
establish a ground for yourself by using a wrist grounding
strap, or by touching the metal chassis prior to handling
the disk drives or printed circuit board components.
Note: The disk drives are hot-swappable. There is no need
to power off the DuraStor 312R or the host computer
system. However, when removing a disk drive, ensure that
it doesn't twist in your hand as a result of the spinning
disk. Pull it slightly from its locked position and allow it to
spin down completely before removing it.
