    ❏ Install Adaptec Storage Manager This Quick Install Guide assumes that you plan to manage your IPSAN from a Windows system running Adaptec Storage Manager. Refer to the User’s Guide on the CD for information on other operating systems. Four hard disk drives and drive carriers DiskPart (Windows users only).

    Safety Tips Caution: To prevent personal injury, have someone assist you during rack installation. Caution: If you are installing your enclosure in a rack, prevent personal injury and equipment damage by following the rack manufacturer’s safety instructions. Install your enclosure only in a rack that has been properly secured in an area with suitable environmental conditions.

    Connecting a Monitor and Keyboard Before continuing, connect a monitor to the Video port and a keyboard to the Keyboard port on the rear of the Adaptec iSA1500. Connecting the Cables and Powering On Use Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) cables to connect to the Ethernet ports.

    Before you can use the Adaptec Storage Manager software, you must configure the Adaptec iSA1500’s basic network parameters using the CLI, which is preinstalled on your Adaptec iSA1500. (For more information about the CLI, see the User’s Guide on the CD.) Configure the Adaptec iSA1500 using the monitor and keyboard.
