Get used to the handling characteristics of the motorcycle on a suitable surface before undertaking more challenging
trips.
Info
When offroad, it is recommended that you are accompanied by another person on another vehicle so that you
can help each other.
Try also to ride as slowly as possible and in a standing position to get a better feel for the motorcycle.
Do not make any off-road trips that exceed your ability and experience.
Hold the handlebar firmly with both hands and keep your feet on the footrests when riding.
If you carry any luggage, make sure you fix it firmly as close as possible to the center of the vehicle and ensure even
weight distribution between the front and rear wheels.

Motorcycles react sensitively to any changes of weight distribution.
Do not exceed the maximum permissible weight and maximum permissible axle loads.
Guideline
Maximum permissible overall weight
Maximum permissible front axle load

Starting power of lithium-ion batteries at low temperatures

p. 94)
Lithium-ion batteries are far lighter than lead batteries, have a low
self-discharge rate, and have more starting power at temperatures over
15 °C (60 °F). At low temperatures, however, the starting power of
lithium-ion batteries drops to below that of lead batteries.
Multiple starting attempts may be needed. Press the start button for
5 seconds, and wait 30 seconds between attempts. The pauses are nec-
essary so that the heat created can distribute through the lithium-ion
battery and the 12-V battery is not damaged.
If the charged lithium-ion battery is unable to actuate the starter motor
or does so only weakly when temperatures are below 15 °C (60 °F), the
402555-01
battery is not faulty but needs to be warmed up internally to increase its
starting power (current output).
The starting power increases as the battery warms up.
