Adjusting the rebound damping of the shock absorber

Caution
Risk of injury Parts of the shock absorber will move around if the shock absorber is detached incorrectly.
The shock absorber is filled with highly compressed nitrogen.

Measuring the dimension of the rear wheel unloaded

Turn adjusting screw
Turn counterclockwise by the number of clicks corresponding to the
shock absorber type.

Turn clockwise to increase the damping; turn counterclock-
wise to reduce damping when the shock absorber rebounds.
Preparatory work
Raise the motorcycle with a lift stand. (
Main work
Position the sag gage in the rear axle and measure the distance to
the marking on the rear fender.
Sag gauge (00029090100)
Pin, sag scale (00029990010)
Note the value as dimension

Finishing work
Remove the motorcycle from the lift stand. (
