Figure 102: Recommended positioning of an encoder
Tip
The encoder should be mounted as close as possible to the print
position. If the encoder is farther away from the print position they
quality may suffer as a result.
radial
axial
at room temperature
at the shaft inlet
When an encoder is directly couple to a driven shaft of a machine,
a play- and offset-balancing coupling must be used.
Do not exert any force to the shaft or the flange of the shaft
encoder. The shaft and the flange should be able to be
installed without having to use force. If this is not possible,
please check the parts and rework them if necessary.
Impacts, e.g. with a hammer or similar tools, to the shaft or the
flange of the shaft encoder will damage / destroy the
measuring system.
The guarantee does not cover such damages!
