Description / Step
Display element
Operating display –green– (1)
The green LED indicates the operating mode of the
sensor. Continuous green light indicates that the
sensor is in operating mode and is working in a stable
range. If the green LED is off when the orange LED is
on, the setting has to be corrected. The sensor is
working in an insecure / non-stable range.
Output display –orange– (2)
This orange LED indicates the status of the sensor. If
the display is lit, the output is active (supply voltage is
on at the output).

Scanning range settings (3)
The scanning range (the detection distance) of the
sensor can be adjusted with this control. In the position
"min" (left stop), the sensor has the lowest scanning

range, in the position "max" (right stop) it has the
highest scanning range. This control has a mechanical
setting range of approx. 5 rotations. Overwinding is not
possible as the control skips the stop at the end. This
can be heard by a clearly audible click.

Switch for output function (4)
This control is a rotary switch and not a control. This
switch is used to switch between light switching = L
(Light) and dark switching = D (Dark). In the operating
mode L, the output of the sensor becomes active if a
product reflects back the red light sent from the sensor
to the sensor (the sensor responds to incoming light).
In operating mode D, the output becomes active when
no red light falls onto the sensor.
Operating mode "L" is used in most applications.
Step 1:
Set the sensor to the operating mode "light switching"
= L. Please set the rotary switch to left stop (counter
clockwise), but do not overwind the controls!
In this operating mode, the output signal is generated
high-level if the light club of the sensor detects a
product/object.
Step 2:
Please ensure that there are no products or other
objects in the input area.
