5 MAINTENANCE

5.1

WARNING

Remove the test leads on any input before opening the case.
Do not operate the clamp-on meter without a battery case cover.
To avoid electrical shock, do not attempt to perform any servicing unless
you are qualified to do so.
To avoid electrical shock and/or damage to the instrument, do not get water
or other foreign agents into the probe.
5.2

CLEANING

Disconnect everything connected to the device and set the switch to OFF.
Use a soft cloth moistened with soapy water. Rinse with a damp cloth and
dry quickly using a dry cloth or forced air.
Dry completely before putting back into use.
5.3

REPLACEMENT OF THE BATTERIES

The
symbol indicates that the batteries are low. When this symbol appears
on the display unit, the batteries must be replaced. The measurements and
specifications are no longer guaranteed.
To replace the batteries, proceed as follows:
1.
Disconnect the measurement leads from the input terminals.
2.
Set the switch to OFF.
3.
Using a screwdriver, unscrew the battery compartment cover from the
back of the housing (see §3.1).
4.
Remove the used batteries and replace them with 4x1.5V AA batteries,
observing the polarities.
5.
Close the battery compartment cover and screw it onto the housing.
