38 Automower® 305 on slopes
To achieve the best mowing results and operating
safety even when parts of the working area are
sloping, the mower compensates automatically
depending on factors including the size and direction
of the slope.
The specified slope on which Automower®
305 can work is 25 %. Accessibility
on steeper slopes than this cannot be
guaranteed.
When Automower® 305 reaches the
boundary wire or collides with an obstacle
and the slope is more than 17%, it will turn
and reverse in one movement. This is in
order to minimise wear to the lawn and
simultaneously to achieve the maximum grip.
If Automower® 305 is travelling forwards
on an upward slope and the incline is
more than 40% the mower stops. It will
subsequently reverse and turn in one
movement in order to find a gentler gradient.
If after two attempts it does not find a
gentler slope it stops and the display notifies
that the stop is due to too steep a gradient.
If the Automower® 305 is travelling forward
on a downhill slope and reaches a gradient
of 50%, the same action is taken as in the
point above.
The above values are approximate and presuppose,
among other things, that the gradient sensor is
correctly calibrated.
Slopes that exceed the specified gradient of
25% can normally only be accessed under highly
favourable conditions. In other words, the mower
cannot be expected to work regularly in a working
area with such steep slopes.
If the Automower® 305 experiences repeated stops
or malfunctions on steep slopes, consideration
should be given to using one of Husqvarna's other
robotic lawnmowers with better performance on
slopes.

The working area's incline can be expressed
in various ways. The table 4 below sets out
the relationship between the different ways of
expressing slopes in percent, height-length-ratio and
in degrees.
