The program can be run in a read only mode by ticking the Read only check box, that is. the
data can be viewed but not changed.
HMI500 obtains the specific device data from a database in a file, which is stored both in the
PC and the protection system. Database files on the PC have the extension .mdb.
Click OK to continue start-up or Cancel to close the program.
When you click OK, HMI500 tests communication with the protection system and starts in the
on-line mode if communication can be established. Otherwise it starts either in off-line or
simulation mode (see

depends on the language setting of the operating system.

The structure and handling of the windows in the operator program is similar to other

When the HMI500 software establishes communication with a REB500 system
initially user must enter a password.

The database that was open during the last session opens automatically. If no
database was open before, select Open in the File menu and then the desired
file. An error message is displayed if an attempt is made to open an
incompatible file. An existing file in the protection system can also be opened
using the Upload function in the File menu.
