Configuring
6.2 Configuring the 3RW5 Soft Starter
1. Set a station address on the 3RW5 soft starter.
The following procedures are possible:
– Via SIRIUS Soft Starter ES (TIA Portal) over the local interface on the
– Via the 3RW5 HMI High Feature
– Via the standard 3RW5 HMI (Page 66)
Note the information in chapter Station address (Page 65).
2. Integrate the 3RW5 soft starter into the PROFIBUS DP system.
The following procedures are possible:
– Integrating 3RW5 soft starter via HSP in STEP 7 (TIA Portal) (Page 68)
– Integrating the 3RW5 Soft Starter with GSD file into the PROFIBUS DP system
Note
STEP 7 (TIA Portal) as of V16
3RW5 soft starters, 3RW5 communication modules and 3RW5 HMIs are already
contained in the HW catalog of STEP 7 (TIA Portal) as of V16. Check the 3RW5 topic
page for updates and ensure that your device and the current firmware are contained in
the HW catalog.
3. Enter the station address of the DP slave that is set on the 3RW5 soft starter in the
configuration software of the controller.
Note the information in chapter Station address (Page 65).
4. Load the configuration into the DP master.
Result
The 3RW5 soft starter is configured in the PROFIBUS DP system and can communicate with
other PROFIBUS devices via the 3RW5 PROFIBUS communication module.
