Common Adjustments and Tasks

Test Patterns

The QLS-8100 Xe is equipped with a number of built-in test patterns used for
checking color alignment, print quality, and printhead integrity.
Refer to the Cal & Setup Menu section of Chapter 4 for more information on
test prints.

Print Line Adjustment

Print line adjustments allow you to align the printing of each of the four
print stations to obtain accurate color registration in the media travel
direction.
Refer to the Ready State & Adjust Menu section of Chapter 4 for more
information on print line adjustments.

Cross Web Adjustment

Cross web adjustments allow you to align the printing of each of the four
print stations to obtain accurate color registration across the width of the
label.
Refer to the Ready State & Adjust Menu section of Chapter 4 for more
information on print line adjustments.

Advancing the Media

The FORM FEED/ADVANCE key serves two functions. If the key is pressed
momentarily and released, the printer will advance the media by one
calibrated media length. If the key is pressed and held, the printer will
advance media until the key is released.
The FORM FEED/ADVANCE function will act as an ADVANCE function if
the printer has not been calibrated for the media.

Print Speed

This function allows you to choose the printing speed. The printer is capable
of printing at speeds of 2 – 5 in/s (inches per second) in 1 in/s increments.
Refer to the Ready State & Adjust Menu section of Chapter 4 for more
information on print speed adjustments.
