7 Maintenance

CAUTION
Use of an incorrect lock
Injuries from falling due to an incorrect lock being installed
► Only use locks of the same size when reinstalling or replacing.
INFORMATION
The product may be exposed to increased loads by the patient.
► Shorten the maintenance intervals according to the expected loads.
The manufacturer requires at least a semi-annual inspection of the product
to verify functionality and check for wear.
As part of maintenance, inspect the orthotic joints for wear and proper func­
tionality.
Spare parts are listed in the section "Components/design".
In case of wear and tear on the bolt and lock plate, send the orthotic knee
joint to the Ottobock Service Department for repair.
Only use 633F7 special lubricant.
Replacing the lock lever and lock screw
1) Loosen the lock screw with a screwdriver and remove it.
2) Remove the lock lever.
3) Insert the replaced lock lever into the upper joint section.
INFORMATION: When replacing the lock lever, replace the lock
screw as well.
4) Insert the lock screw and secure with Loctite 241.
5) Following installation, adjust the lock lever according to the needs of the
patient.
INFORMATION: Make adjustments only on the lock lever. Do not
modify the lock plate and bolt.
8 Disposal
Dispose of the product in accordance with national regulations.
