Using the machine

THE machine must not be used by
persons with biomedical implants (e.g.
pacemakers,
without first consulting their doctor.
DANGER
Remove the electrodes using the special
tool provided, taking care to avoid any
contact with hot parts.
WARNING
Store the electrodes in a suitable place
where they can cool down in total safety
(for example, on the ground).
Keep the surrounding area free from
flammable materials.
WARNING
Operators must wear suitable personal
protective equipment (goggles, gloves,
aprons or other clothing) to protect
themselves from spatter of incandescent
material.
The gloves used must be resistant to high
temperatures.
Press the trigger progressively, allowing the electrodes/
caps to close gradually.
Release the trigger to reopen the electrodes/caps.
Press the trigger fully home to apply the programmed
welding force; the welding cycle starts automatically.
Release the trigger at least 1 second after the end of
welding, as this delay improves the quality of the spot
weld.
If the trigger is released before the end of the weld, an
error is displayed on the operator panel to indicate that
the weld was not properly completed.
At the end of the weld, the operator panel displays the
time, current and force values that were used.
When welding sheets that are pre-painted, and thus
insulated from one another, the first weld must be
performed by applying a clamp close to the welding
zone to create an electrical contact between the two
sheets (this expedient creates a flow of current that
enables you to burn the layer of paint on the internal
surfaces of the plates).
When the welding is finished, turn off the machine,
remove the electrical plug, shut off the compressed air
supply and store the welder in a dry, secure place.
