6.1
For ailerons, it should also be noted that a left and a right rudder blade need to be built. We recom-
mend marking the contour of the aileron cut-outs in the wings on the building board so that the aileron
blades are built at the correct angle.
6.2
Position the required parts on the building board. Fix the trailing edge TQ-01 in place at several points
so that the piece cannot bend.
6.3
Now glue the terminal ribs TQ-03 and TQ-04 and the leading edge TQ-02 to the trailing edge. Use the
marked contours of the aileron cut-out for orientation here. The leading edge is also fixed at multiple
points so that it can no longer pop out.
6.4
The diagonal rods are cut to size and glued in line with the cut-outs in the trailing edges. Make sure to
use white glue or balsa cement – under no circumstances should superglue be used for this, as it
makes the framework too brittle and it will break during subsequent handling.
6.5
Once everything has dried out, you can take the aileron from the building board. Now sand the leading
edge so that it is flat and attach leading edge TQ-06 fully.
6.6
There are two options for hinging: on the centre line with fleece hinges or on the top with adhesive
tape and/or fabric foil. Accordingly, you now have to plane and grind the doubled leading edge into
shape.
6.7
Finally, the entire underside of the aileron is ground flat, and on the upper side the bars are ground
down to a tip towards the trailing edge.

7. Final steps

7.1
Sand the model completely. Use 220-grit sandpaper to finish. Completely remove all dust from the
model, ideally using a vacuum cleaner with an upholstery brush.
7.2
Before applying the iron-on covering, we recommend applying a layer of sanding sealer to the entire
model. This makes the surface less sensitive and also means that the film will hold better.
7.3
A conventional pine colour varnish was used for the display model. This can be applied with a broad
brush with even strokes. Following this, a clear coat can be applied, or the model can be fitted with an
iron-on covering. We expressly recommend using an iron-on covering, as the raw surface not only
looks more realistic, but it also produces a marked improvement in terms of flight characteristics.
7.4
For the covering itself, we recommend an iron-on film, ideally "Oratex". We have had the best results
with this approach. Iron a single colour cover onto the model, as "Oratex" can also be painted very
well.
The wings
7.5
The aileron blades are attached on the top and on the inside with hinges on the centre line or with
adhesive tape. Take care to ensure sure that they can move easily and that the ailerons do not touch
at the sides.
7.6
The aileron servos are stuck directly onto the servo lid using 5-minute epoxy. The servo casing must
be well roughened and degreased beforehand. The covers are then fixed in place with four screws
each. Appropriate extensions are required for the servo cables.
7.7
Prepare the aileron linkages, consisting of the threaded rod TF-56, the hexagon nut TF-57 and the
clevises TF-58. While doing so, also glue on the rudder horns TQ-07. The linkages must run exactly
parallel to the aileron ribs.
The tailplane
7.8
The rudder blades are connected with the steel wire H-24. To that end, the steel wire is bent to 45 mm
in length and fixed in the middle of the tailplane using adhesive tape. Then the angled ends are trans-
ferred to the rudders so that they can be drilled correctly at 2 mm. The steel wire is inserted and glued
into this hole.
7.9
The elevator is now fastened to the tailplane with six fleece hinge plates. The fleece plates are glued
into the tailplane using high-viscosity super glue. The elevator is then fitted and glued with low-
viscosity superglue.
