2.9
Now the trailing edge parts S-09 and S-10 are stuck onto S-08, then onto the main spar S-06. The
trailing edge must be placed on waste wood and can then be fixed onto the building board so that a
rudder is produced without distortion.
2.10 Now, the doublers S-11 are stuck on the left and right, but are not sanded yet.
2.11 Afterwards, the rudder frame is underlaid again without distortion and fixed onto the building board.
Then, the diagonal ribs S-12 are pressed in and glued. They must be stuck on using white glue, as
superglue cannot withstand the pressure of grinding.
2.12 The wing tip S-13, consisting of three layers, is stuck together. Make sure here that the fibre direction
of the middle (!) layer is rotated by 90 degrees. This ensures stability and stiffness. Following this, the
two straight edges are ground flush and at right-angles.
2.13 The wing tip is now stuck onto main spar S-06 at the front, directly on the upper edge of doubler S-07.
2.14 Finally, the rudder is sanded. Adapt the wing tip to the shape of the upper rib of the fin. The doubler S-
07 is trimmed to a conical shape on both sides and then ground so that hinges S-14 can be placed on
the centre line.
2.15 The rudder horn S-15 is only glued in after (!) it has been covered.

3.2
The tailplane is built on supporting feet on the ribs, which are cut away and ground shortly before pan-
els are attached to the underside.
3.3
Place ribs H-01 to H-04, as well as the four main spar H-05, trailing edge H-06, both nose boards H-07
and the screw board H-08.
3.4
In the first step, the ribs H-01 are stuck onto screw board H-08. Then trailing edge H-06 is attached
and the entire thing is aligned at right-angles and fixed onto the building board.
3.5
Now ribs H-02 to H-04 are attached and glued onto the trailing edge on the left and right, followed by
both nose boards H-07. The entire framework is now fixed onto the building board so that it is flat.
Trailing edge H-06 must be exactly straight.
3.6
The uppermost of the four main spars H-05 are pressed into the cut-outs. The edges of the cut-outs
must be slightly bevelled so that the strips fit in without tension. In the middle of the tail unit, the strips
are slightly bevelled so that they can be stuck together.
3.7
Now the two layers of padding H-09 of the screw board are glued on. Make sure that it is definitely part
H-09 with the biggest borehole that is used, not H-12 for the underside, which has a smaller borehole.
3.8
Once everything has hardened, the upper side of the tailplane is sanded. In particular nose boards H-
07 and padding H-09 must be placed in profile shape. The edges of the main spars stuck in must also
be levelled.
3.9
Now the whole thing is fixed onto the building board and the trailing edge is aligned so that it is straight
and at right-angles.
3.10 Panelling parts H-10 and H-11 are stuck together, as already done on the sides of the fuselage. Again,
to ensure that the adhesive strip can be removed cleanly, do not use superglue.
3.11 Now the panelling is stuck onto the framework and pressed on with a small force. It is slightly over-
sized, which is why particular attention must be paid to the alignment.
