3.3 Restoring a System Drive to Factory Settings

Perform the following procedures to use the recovery DVD to restore the system drive for the
HF-W2000 model 35/30 to the factory settings.
1. Turn on the power for HF-W, and insert the recovery DVD ("HITACHI HJ-203**E*E*
Product Recovery DVD") in the DVD drive (the underlined part indicates the model for the
purchased HF-W2000 model 35/30, with each asterisk differing by model. For the
following procedures, replace the similar part with the model of the purchased HF-W2000
model 35/30).
2. Boot from the recovery DVD. The following confirmation message is displayed.

"HITACHI HJ-203**E*E* Product Recovery DVD" is
only used for HJ-203**E*E*.

If the [n] key is pressed, the following message is displayed, and confirmation is canceled.
Press the power switch to cut power to HF-W.

System recovery process is canceled.
3. If the [y] key is pressed, a message confirming whether to start drive restoration is
displayed.

This recovery program deletes all personal data and
your customized configuration settings. It resets
HJ-203**E*E* to the factory-shipped default values.
Be sure to back up your personal files before you use
this DVD.
