Der Einsatz von öl- und gashaltigen Me-
dien kann bei EPDM Dichtungen zur
Zerstörung von Gummierung und O-
Ringen führen und ist deshalb nicht zu-
lässig.
Die entsprechenden Temperatureinsatz-
grenzen sind der
technischen Dokumentation (KAT 1322-
A) zu entnehmen. Bei abweichenden
Betriebsbedingungen und Einsatzberei-
chen ist die Rückfrage beim Hersteller
notwendig. Die Beständigkeit der Dich-
tungswerkstoffe ist im Zweifelsfall nach-
zufragen.
3.3
Leistungsgrenzen
3.3.1 Kavitation
Die VAG EKN
wird vornehmlich zum Absperren von
Durchflüssen eingesetzt. Wird die VAG
®
EKN
H1200 Absperrklappe zum Regeln
von Durchflüssen eingesetzt, so sind die
Betriebsgrenzen der maximalen Durch-
flussgeschwindigkeit sowie die Kavitati-
onsgrenzen zu beachten.
Die Berechnung der Betriebsgrenzen kann entwe-
der mit der VAG UseCAD® Planungs-Software oder
gemäß nachfolgenden Berechnungsregeln durch-
geführt werden.
Kavitationsgrenzen
Wenn die Drücke vor und nach der Absperrklappe
sowie der Durchfluss bestimmt sind, wird die Kavi-

ing gas or oil may result in the destruc-
tion of the EPDM seals (rubber lining)
and O-rings and is therefore not permis-
sible.
