1 Allgemeines

Sicherheit
Diese Betriebs- und Wartungsanleitung
muss generell gemeinsam mit den all-
gemeinen „VAG Einbau- und Bedie-
nungsanweisungen Armaturen" beachtet
und
angewendet

Eigenmächtige Veränderungen an diesem Produkt
sowie an den mitgelieferten Anbauteilen sind nicht
zulässig. Für eventuell auftretende Folgeschäden
aufgrund Nichtbeachtung lehnen wir jegliche Ge-
währleistung ab. Bei Einsatz dieser Armatur sind
die anerkannten Regeln der Technik (z.B. DIN-
Normen, DVGW Arbeitsblätter W332 für Absperr-
klappen", VDI-Richtlinien, EN 1074 Teil 1 / 2 etc.)
zu beachten. Der Einbau darf nur durch qualifizier-
tes Fachpersonal erfolgen (siehe auch Kapitel 7.1
Allgemeine Sicherheitshinweise). Weitere techni-
sche Daten und Informationen wie Abmessungen,
Werkstoffe und Einsatzbereiche, sind den entspre-
chenden Dokumentationen (KAT 1322-A) zu ent-
nehmen.
VAG Armaturen sind nach dem aktuellen Stand der
Technik konstruiert, gefertigt und grundsätzlich
betriebssicher. Von Armaturen können trotzdem
Gefahren ausgehen, wenn sie unsachgemäß oder
zu nicht bestimmungsgemäßem Gebrauch einge-
setzt werden.
Jede Person, die im Betrieb des Anwenders mit der
Montage, Demontage, Bedienung und Instandhal-
tung der Armaturen befasst ist, muss die komplette
Betriebs- und Wartungsanleitung gelesen und ver-
standen haben (UVV, VBG1 § 14 und folgende).
Der Leitungsabschnitt ist druck- und gefahrlos zu
machen,
bevor
Schutzvorrichtungen
und/oder Arbeiten an den Armaturen durchgeführt
werden. Unbefugtes, irrtümliches und unerwartetes
Ingangsetzen, sowie gefahrbringende Bewegungen
durch gespeicherte Energie (Druckluft, Druckwas-
ser etc.) sind zu verhindern.
Bei überwachungspflichtigen Anlagen sind Gesetze,
Verordnungen, z. B. Gewerbeordnung, Unfallverhü-
tungsvorschriften,
Dampfkesselverordnung,
Merkblätter usw. maßgebend. Außerdem gelten die
örtlichen Unfallverhütungsvorschriften.
Die Armatur nur bei ausgeglichenem
Druck geöffnet werden. Dazu muss ein
Bypasssystem vorhanden sein.

technology have to be observed (e.g. national
standards, EN 1074 Part 1 / 2 etc.). The installation
must only be carried out by qualified staff (see also
Section 7.1 General safety instructions). For further

VAG valves are designed and manufactured to the
highest standards and their safety of operation is
generally ensured l. However, valves may be poten-
tially dangerous if they are operated improperly or
are not installed for their intended use.
Everyone dealing with the assembly, disassembly,
operation, maintenance and repair of the valves
must have read and understood the complete Op-
erating and Maintenance Instructions (Accident
Prevention Regulations and ANSI Z535).
Before removing any protective devices and/or per-
entfernt
forming any work on the valves, depressurize the
pipeline section and ensure it is free of hazards.
Unauthorized, unintentional and unexpected actua-
tion as well as any hazardous movements caused
by stored energy (pressurized air, water under
pressure) must be prevented.
In case of equipment that must be monitored and
inspected, all relevant laws and regulations, such as
AD-
the Industrial Code, the Accident Prevention Regu-
lations, the Ordinance of Steam Boilers and instruc-
tional pamphlets issued by the Pressure Vessels
Study Group must be complied with. In addition, the
local accident prevention regulations must be ob-
served.
Safety
These Operation and Maintenance
structions must be observed and applied
at all times along with the general "VAG
Installation and Operating Instructions for
Valves" (see www.vag-group.com / Cat-
egory: Installation and Operating Instruc-
tions).
The valve has only to be opened under
equal pressure conditions by using a
Bypass.
