All cabinet values are calculated for a fully loaded configuration. Contact your Dell EMC
Sales Representative for specific supported configurations.
Note:
These power consumption and heat dissipation requirements generally apply
when that same VTEC equipment is installed in a third-party rack. Dell EMC
cannot measure or guarantee airflow or heat dissipation capabilities that are
provided by third-party racks.
The following diagram shows the customer (external) connections for DLm8500 with
Data Domain:
This section provides an overview of DLm8500 with data domain.
DLm8500 has at least one management VTE (the first VTE). If a second VTE is
configured, it is the second management VTE. Each Management VTE has two 1 GbE
ports (for redundancy) which should be connected to your organization network. It is
recommended that one port from each Management VTE is connected to one network
switch and the other two ports are connected to another network switch. This
ensures that failure of one switch does not affect Management VTE connectivity.
The cables to connect these ports to your network are not supplied with DLm. Provide
four network cables to connect the Management VTE to your network.

Replication connections
As per the requirement, the customer provides network cables for Data Domain
replication connections. The number of cables that are required, depends partly on the
number of installed Data Domain systems. Each Data Domain system can have 2 to 4
copper (CAT-5 or CAT-6) ports for replication.
