SeRVICING aND RePaIRING THe eNGINe'S COmPONeNTS

CONNECTING ROD

Note:
 T hebearingoftheconnectingrodheadshouldbereplacedalongwiththe
crankshaftstump,connectingrodandspacerwashers.
- Check the connecting rod end bearing and housing for jamming marks, grooves
and gaps.
- Measure the clearance of the connecting rod head by pushing it to one side
and inserting a thickness gauge on the opposite side.

PISTON

- Check the piston for scratches, jamming marks and deformation due to
overheating.
- Check the grooves of the rings (cleanliness, absence of deposits of carbon,
breakage, etc.). If necessary, clean them with a wire brush that does not
damage the surface of the piston.
- Check that the locking pins of the rings are in their housing and that they are
firmly fixed.
- Check that there is no excess clearance between the rings and the piston
grooves.

Thepistonfittingclearanceisdeterminedbysubtractingthesmallestcylinder
bore measurement from the largest piston bore measurement.

STD: 0.80 mm.
Limit: 1.00 mm.
200 cc:
STD: 0.05 mm
Limit: 0.10 mm.
250 cc:
STD: 0.055 mm
Limit: 0.10 mm.
300 cc:
STD: 0.06 mm
Limit: 0.10 mm.
