Section 8
In these screens HI/LO only allows
a change to be seen for the logical
level of the input. It does not refer to
the High or Low nature of the
parameter that is being monitored.
Disabling the carrier loss input will
enable pumps to run when the
carrier is not present. This can result
in serious damage to the carrier gas
system due to liquids back flowing
through the carrier gas components.

The TOC analyzer is exposed to widely varying sample compositions.
Bubbles optically trigger the internal flow sensors when either a sparger or UV
flow failure occurs. In very difficult sample compositions, fluctuating optical
properties may cause a trigger of the bubble detectors even though no real
bubble occurs. In prior revisions of the firmware it has not been possible to
vary the sensitivity of these bubble detectors which has caused the analyzer
to either unnecessarily go offline to try and recover the liquid flow, or in the
case of dual stream analyzers, change to the alternate stream. For this
reason the ability to change the sensitivity of both the sparger flow and the UV
flow failure events has been added to the pre-existing Service/Input
Status/Sparger Flow and UV flow menus.
