Gasohol
There   a re   t wo   t ypes   o f   g asohol:   g asohol   c on-
taining     e thanol     ( E10)     a nd     t hat     c ontaining
methanol.     E thanol     c an     b e     u sed     i f     t he     e thanol
content     d oes     n ot     e xceed     1 0%     a nd     t he     f uel
meets     t he     m inimum     o ctane     r atings.     E 85     i s     a
fuel     c ontaining     8 5%     e thanol     a nd     m ust     n ot     b e
used     i n     y our     o utboard     m otor.     A ll     e thanol
blends     c ontaining     m ore     t han     1 0%     e thanol
can     c ause     f uel     s ystem     d amage     o r     c ause     e n-
gine     s tarting     a nd     r unning     p roblems.     O utboards
does     n ot     r ecommend     g asohol     c ontaining
methanol     b ecause     i t     c an     c ause     f uel     s ystem
damage     o r     e ngine     p erformance     p roblems.
It     i s     r ecommended     t hat     y ou     i nstall     a     w ater-
separating   m arine   f uel   f ilter   a ssembly   ( 10   m i-
cron     m inimum)   b etween   y our   b oat's   f uel   t ank
and     o utboard     m otor     w hen     u sing     e thanol.
Ethanol     i s     k nown     t o     a llow     m oisture     t o     b e     a b-
sorbed     i nto     b oat     f uel     t anks     a nd     s ystems.
Moisture     i n     t he     f uel     c an     c ause     c orrosion     o f
metallic     f uel     s ystem     c omponents,     s tarting
and     r unning     c omplaints     a nd     r equire     a ddition-
al     f uel     s ystem     m aintenance.
 
Anti-fouling     p aint
A   c lean   h ull     i mproves   b oat   p erformance.   T he
boat     b ottom     s hould     b e     k ept     a s     c lean     o f     m a-
rine     g rowth     a s     p ossible.     I f     n ecessary,     t he
boat     b ottom     c an     b e     c oated     w ith     a n     a nti-foul-
ing     p aint     a pproved     f or     y our     a rea     t o     i nhibit
 
marine     g rowth.
Do     n ot     u se     a nti-fouling     p aint     w hich     i ncludes
copper     o r     g raphite.     T hese     p aints     c an     c ause
