6 Cleaning
After contact with water containing salt, chlorine or soap, or if they get dirty,
the orthotic joints must be promptly cleaned.
1) Rinse the orthotic joints with clean fresh water.
2) Dry the orthotic joints with a cloth or allow them to air dry. Avoid expos­
ure to direct heat (e.g. from an oven or radiator).
7 Maintenance

The product may be exposed to increased loads by the patient.
► Shorten the maintenance intervals according to the expected loads.

Increased wear and tear
The orthotic knee joints are intended only for use in combination with free-
motion or foot lifting orthotic ankle joints. Wear occurs more rapidly in
combinations involving orthotic ankle joints with a dorsal stop.

Perlon cable wear and tear
Use the perlon cable only in combination with the screwed in cable sleeve
(delivery condition) (see fig. 2, item 3).
The manufacturer requires at least a semi-annual inspection of the product
to verify functionality and check for wear.
Only use 633F7 special lubricant.
Replacing the bushing and axial washers
1) Remove the joint screw from the orthotic joint.
2) Remove the three countersunk head screws on the cover.
3) Unlock and flex the lower joint section.
4) Press out the bearing nut and remove the lower joint section.
5) Optional: Press out the bushing and replace it.
6) Lay the greased axial washers onto the protruding bushing.
7) Install the joint and secure all screws with Loctite 241.
