9.3.8 To do a check of the start solenoid
1. Measure the voltage on the terminals (A and B) on
the battery. Make a note of the voltage.

2. Measure the voltage on the terminals (A and C) on
the start solenoid when the start key is in the stop
position (D). The voltage must be 0 V.

3. Measure the voltage on the terminals (A and C) on
the start solenoid when the start key is in the neutral
position (E). The voltage must be 0 V.
4. Measure the voltage on the terminals (A and C) on
the start solenoid when the start key is in the start
position (F). The voltage must be the same as it was
between the battery terminals.

9.3.9 To disassemble and assemble the start
solenoid
1. Disconnect the red cable on the positive terminal of
the battery (A).

2. Disconnect the cables (B) and (C) from the starter
solenoid.
3. Make marks on the cables (D) and (E).
4. Disconnect the cables (D) and (E).
5. Remove the screw (F).
6. Assemble in opposite sequence.
9.3.10 To replace the headlights
1. Remove the front cover of the steering column.

2. Remove the 3 screws of the headlights.
3. Remove the headlights.
4. Assemble in opposite sequence.
