1.4.4 Cover Open Sensor

The sensor performs following:
If the printer cover opens during printing:
The CR returns to the home position slowly after printing the current pass. The cover open LED
lights up and the printer goes into the stand-by state.
To recover, close the cover and press the pause button to continue to print. The cover open LED
goes off with recovery.
If the printer cover opens during cleaning:
The printer completes the cleaning sequence. If the cover is still open after the cleaning, the cover
open LED lights up and the printer goes into stand-by.
To recover, close the cover and press the pause button to continue to print. The cover open LED
goes off with the recovery.
If the cover opens while the printer is in the stand-by:
The cover open LED lights up and the printer stops functioning. *
To recover, close the printer cover.

The interface is in the BUSY status and the switches on the control panel are ineffective.

The cover open sensor controls carriage movement that can cause harm to the user.

This printer has user-selectable default settings that it refers to at initialization. This section describes the

1.4.5.1 Setting Method
See the flowchart on Page 1-26 for the default setting method.

Be sure to turn off the printer off after the default setting operation is executed, since adjustment
values are not stored in the EEPROM until the printer is turned off.

The most recent adjustment values set before power-off are stored in the EEPROM.
