1.4.3 LED Indicators

Several printer conditions are indicated by the LEDs on the control panel. When any of the errors listed
below occurs, the printer indicates an error condition, the /ERROR signal is LOW, and BUSY is HIGH,
stopping data transfer. This automatically puts the printer into a paused state.
The carriage moves abnormally (fatal error).
Paper is out or there is paper jam.
The PG for the paper currently loaded is inaccurate.
No ink cartridge or ink is out.
Maintenance is required.

1. "-" means no effect.
2. Fatal error is cleared by turning the printer off and back on or by inputting the /INIT signal after the
problem is solved.
3. Maintenance is required when the waste ink drain pads are filled with waste ink to the specified limit. To
clear the condition, reset the EEPROM. (See Section 1.4.2 "Panel functions at power on") Refer to
Chapter 2 or Chapter 3.
