Chapter 7 Troubleshooting

If this instrument is visibly damaged, does not function
as expected, or is found to have irregularities during the
procedures described in "Chapter 2 Installation and
Connection" and "Chapter 3 Inspection Before Use" in
"INSTRUCTIONS (BASIC)" and "INSTRUCTIONS
(ADVANCED)," do not use this instrument and contact
Olympus for repair according to "7.2 Sending this
Instrument for Repair" on page 73.
Some problems that appear to be malfunctions may be
correctable by referring to "7.1 Troubleshooting Guide"
below. If the problem cannot be resolved by the
described remedial action, stop using this instrument
and send it to Olympus for repair.
Olympus does not repair accessory parts. If an accessory
part becomes damaged, contact Olympus to purchase a
replacement.

7.1 Troubleshooting Guide

The following table shows the possible causes of and
countermeasures against problems that may occur due to
equipment setting errors or deterioration of consumable.
Problems or failures due to other causes than those listed
below should be serviced. As repair performed by
persons who are not qualified by Olympus could cause
patient or operator injury and/or equipment damage, be
sure to contact Olympus for repair as described in "7.2
Sending this Instrument for Repair".
Irregularity
Possible cause
The power fails to come on. The power cord is not connected.
The power cord is connected improperly.
The power cord is broken.
The mobile workstation is turned OFF.
This instrument is turned OFF.
A trouble occurred inside this instrument.
The PRINT lamp is kept
lit without going off
after setting the power
switch of this
instrument to ON.
A trouble occurred inside this instrument.
The PRINT lamp is lit
even when the
instrument is not
printing.
The buzzer keeps
A trouble occurred inside this instrument.
sounding.
WARNING
Never use this instrument if an abnormality is suspected.
Damage or irregularity in the instrument may
compromise patient or operator safety and may result in
more severe equipment damage.
WARNING
If any irregularity is suspected with this instrument, first
turn it OFF and ON again.
Solution
Connect to a wall mains socket outlet as described in "2.4
Connection to the AC Mains Power Supply" in
"INSTRUCTIONS (BASIC)."
Replace the new power cord.
Turn the mobile workstation ON.
Turn this instrument ON.
Turn this instrument OFF, then ON again after a while.
Turn this instrument OFF, then ON again after a while.
Turn this instrument OFF, then ON again after a while.
