APPLE AUTHENTICATION (USED ON THE 7-INCH LCD ONLy)
This board allows for positive authentication of Apple devices like iPod
and iPhone (collectively known as an i-product)
®
in order to access video content.
The Apple Authentication Co-processor is a proprietary chip from Apple. It receives a string of I2C data from the
connected i-product, and performs some verification handshaking that enables the i-product to be remotely controlled.
HEADPHONE ESD PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD
This board protects the Single Board Computer (SBC) board from Electrostatic Discharges (ESD) that may reach
the SBC via the headphone jack. It is used on all Tread and non-Tread consoles.
LIFEPULSE
ESD PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD
TM
This board protects the Machine Interface Board (MIB) from Electrostatic Discharge (ESD)
that may reach the board via Lifepulse™ sensor inputs. This board is only used on non-Tread consoles.
CODED RECEIvER
This board receives Telemetry Heart rate pulses from the chest strap.
This board implements variable gain control to ensure coded operation with the intended transmitter. This board is located
in the bottom portion of the Activity Zone housing on Treadmills. It is located within the console on non-treadmill products.
BACKLIGHT INvERTER (7-INCH LCD, 15-INCH LCD)
Two different boards perform the same function - to convert console low voltage DC to the high voltage AC that is
required to light the cold cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFL) and light up the LCD from behind. The inverter board for the
7-inch LCD has one lamp connection, while the inverter board for the 15-inch LCD has two lamp connections. On the
7-inch LCD, it is important to route the low voltage wires (between the SBC and inverter) away from the inverter's High
Voltage output to prevent arcing.
