Alarm Severity
The Appliance system has the following alarm severity:




8.6.1 Alarm Syntax

A standard alarm consists of five fields separated by commas. The content of each field is the
string after each colon. The alarm attributes are described as follows:





The following is a trap message example:
Time: Thu Apr 3 10:06:04 2008, Sensor: Power Temp, Event: high temperature, Assertion:
Minor, Event Code: 0X010700
This trap message shows an original alarm identified by keywords. The alarm syntax varies
depending on the network management software. For more information, see network
management software documents.
Issue 04 (2018-11-06)
Minor
Minor alarms are generated for the faults that do not have major impact on the system.
Minor alarms require prompt corrective measures to prevent more serious faults.
Major alarm
Major alarms are generated for the faults that may affect normal operating of the system
or interrupt services.
Critical alarm
Critical alarms are generated for the faults that may cause board power-off or even
interrupt services. You must take measures to process critical alarms immediately.
Time
Time when an alarm is generated, for example, Time: Thu Apr 3 10:06:04 2009.
Sensor
Name of the sensor that generates an alarm, for example, Sensor: Power Temp.
Event
Details about an alarm, for example, Event: high temperature.
Assertion
Severity of an alarm, for example, Assertion: Minor.
Event Code
Event code that corresponds to an alarm, for example, Event Code: 0X010700.
