13.8.6.2 Preparing Encoder Cables
Up to a cable length of 50m, use a shielded and sheathed cable with cores in twisted pairs (suggestion acc. to
DIN 47100). Please consult our customer support for cables longer than 50m.
AKD2G/AKD/S700 Accessories Manual | 13 Cables
All the motors in our range feature the same 17-pin connector for the
encoder connection (EnDat, HIPERFACE, BiSS etc.). This connector is
also used for the connections from the motor's thermal protection contact
to the servo amplifier. The servo amplifiers have a Sub-D female con-
nector for the connection of the encoder and the thermal protection con-
tact. The cable shield is connected to the servo amplifier via the
connector housing.
