8 Legal Information

8.1 Liability
The manufacturer's warranty applies only if the device has been used under the conditions and
for the purposes described. The manufacturer recommends that the device be used and main­
tained according to the instructions for use.
The manufacturer is not responsible for damages caused by components and spare parts not
approved by the manufacturer. Repairs must be carried out exclusively by authorised dealers or
by the manufacturer.
8.2 CE Conformity
This device meets the requirements of the 93/42/EEC guidelines for medical devices. This device
has been classified as a class I device according to the classification criteria outlined in appendix
IX of the guidelines. The declaration of conformity was therefore created by Ottobock with sole
responsibility according to appendix VII of the guidelines.
This device also meets the requirements of the 1999/5/EC directive for radio equipment and tele­
communications terminal equipment. The declaration of conformity was created by Ottobock
according to appendix IV of the guidelines. A copy of the declaration of conformity can be reques­
ted from the manufacturer (see last page).
8.3 Disposal
This product must not be disposed of with regular domestic waste. Disposal that is not in
accordance with the regulations of your country may have a detrimental impact on health
and the environment. Please observe the information provided by the responsible author­
ities in your country regarding return and collection processes.
